Congratulations to Ms. Karen Baxter on her recognition as the September 2024 FCPS CARES Region 6 Recipient of the Month, presented by the FCPS Department of Human Resources.

Below is the write-up submitted by an Island Creek ES parent.

Ms. Baxter helped my daughter when she broke her wrist during school hours. She helped my family out by riding with her to the hospital while I gathered her siblings together, and she helped to keep my daughter calm, especially since she was upset her dad was out of town for work. This employee - and others! - truly helped us out in a quite distressing situation.
