Dear Island Creek Families,
I am excited to share that next Friday, July 21 is our first popsicle event! We invite our Rising 1st Grade and 2nd Grade students and families to join us on the playground from 4:00-5:00 to reconnect with friends and make new ones. Ms. Baxter and I look forward to seeing you.
As you may have noticed at the top of our newsletter we have a new logo. Our new Croc logo was 20 years in the making and a heartfelt thank you to Ms. Meredith "Cosi" Cosier (Cameron Elementary, STEAM Teacher) for her creative and digital expertise with our updated logo. When students return to school, they will be deciding on the name of our new Croc logo. Additonally, thanks to the efforts of the Island Creek staff and input from families last Spring, our "CROCS" acronym has been updated (shown below) and will be displayed throughout the school. Staff will explicitly teach "CROCS" at the beginnning of the year with interactive modeling and will review, revisit, and reinforce throughout the school year.
I hope all of our students, families, and staff are having a wonderful summer filled with special memories and great books! We miss you and are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the new school year on Monday, August 21!
Your Proud Principal,
Jen Fallert
